Under consideration is a vintage, 3inch tall, Multi-colored hand painted porcelain,'Woman(mouse) who lived in a shoe' Trinket box. Images of the shoe's residents are present. The shoe and its occupants are representative of the nursery rhyme'There was an old women who lived in a shoe and had so many children she didn't know what to do' etc.. Her shoe house has a yellow roof and red chimney with a blue bird resting on top. The body of the shoe is light blue in color with a lavender tip and tongue and a gold shoe lace. Shoe, also, has a gold sole. The shoe has incorporated a front door and 2 windows. Images of the occupants (mice) are displayed at the door entrance and at the windows. The front door entrance shows Mrs.

Mouse with baby and the top window shows a departing bat. All are delicately illustrated in fine detail. The opening clasp is in the form of a mouse. The rim is trimmed in an ornate metal band. The bottom of the shoe has hand scribed'Peint Main','Limoges' and'France' on it.

Note: The creation of the Limoges Porcelain Box is an arduous and time intensive process of creating a master mold, detail painting by hand of color and design, performing multiple firing and glazing processes upon the porcelain mold. For a final touch a metal hinge and clasp for opening and closing. Dimensions: Height- 2 7/8 inch.
