Today we are happy to offer for sale a lovely vintage Limoges Pierre Arquie fox porcelain trinket box! Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain produced by factories in and around the city of Limoges, France beginning in the late 18th century. By about 1830 Limoges, which was close to the areas where suitable clay was found, had replaced Paris as the main center for private porcelain factories.
Limoges has maintained this position to the present day. This fabulous Pierre Arquie box features the whimsical shape of beautiful red fox on a grassy floral ground, with painted mushroom interior, and feather bow gilt. The piece is marked Porcelaine Pierre Arquie Hand Painted. Box presents beautifully and is in very good vintage condition, with very minimal display wear and no chips or cracks. This fabulous box will make a beautiful addition to any fine Limoges trinket box collection..
