Limoges France Peint Mein Eiffel Tower Paris Porcelain Trinket Box. Limited Millennial Edition Commemorative 2000/1900 edition. Hand Painted Porcelain with a brass lock closure in the shape of a half moon. The inside of the box has a small painting of the French flag on the moon as seen through the base level of the Eiffel Tower, with a footprint beside it. Limoges often incorporate global events into their pieces to resonate internationally.
This box celebrates humankind's greatest achievements of the last 100 years and the artist who created this piece felt the moon landing was as much a victory for France as the USA. The I mention this because from the photo it looks like the inside of the box is dirty, but that is part of the painting. A very interesting piece with the moon also reflected in the box's lock.
