Limoges France Box Dutch Windmill & Movable Metal Blades Flowers & Wheat
This colorful, La Vie en Rose, Limoges box is a beige,'wooden' mill, with a red tile roof, movable metal blades and leaf vines painted on the bottom. Two flower boxes are in front, and it has three windows with flower boxes, and a person looking out a fourth window. Red, blue and yellow flowers, and grass are on the base. A stemmed flower is the clasp, and wheat stalks are painted inside. Windmills were primarily used for grinding grain. The box has a diameter of 1.7" with a height of 2.6".
