Limoges Box Tiffany Private Stock Le Tallec Cirque Chinois Oval

  

Le Tallec, oval box, is decorated in the elaborate "Cirque Chinois" pattern. The top has a scene of a royal blue dragon or gryphon with 22KT gold wings pulling a yellow chariot, with golden wheels. An Asian man, dressed in blue and red, is in the chariot.

In the background are flowering trees on each side, brown stones on the bottom, and a gold border. The side has another dragon and chariot in front, a pagoda like structure and man in back, trees on the sides, with a stone border. A flower is the clasp, and gold scenes of pagodas and palm trees are painted on the inside top and bottom. It is 2.1" by 3.3" with a height of 2. On the bottom is: Tiffany & Co. Private Stock - Hand Painted - Made in France - L RR T / HM with a stock number. The "RR" date code was used in both 1962 and 1987.
