Wonderful Gift for That Loved One! This is a lovely piece of Limoges porcelain. The lid is cut in 9 panels and is designed in relief using the pate-sur-pate method. The cobalt blue center scene on the lid depicts a white translucent nude cupid on a flowering branch as it plays a small wind instrument for the butterflies flittering in the air above it's head.

The scene has a handpainted gilded scroll design that surrounds it. The bowl of this dish also has 9 panels with three banded columns that lead down to small nubbed feet. "Tharaud" name on base in green. "Made in France" in green and although it is blurred we believe the third mark to be "Limoges France" mark in gold. Size: Lid is 5" diameter, bowl is 4-1/2" diameter.

Lid rests on ledge at top of bowl. Condition: Previously owned, Excellent Condition. No chips, cracks, crazing stains or repairs. We do wrap with great care to ensure safe arrival.
