Wonderful, authentic, vintage Limoges box from the highly-creative Artoria Limoges Company of France, of two armadillos on a desert floor. One is walking ahead, while the other is half-buried in the sand. There is a tall cactus plant between them. The interior features a lovely hand-painted landscape of a mountain range in the background of a meadow filled with bluebonnets (the state flower of Texas) & yellow wildflowers. The clasp is a coiled rattlesnake. The bottom certifies that this is a numbered edition, with this individual box being # 87 out of 1000 that was made.

It also bears the artist's initials N. The oval base measures 3" x 2", and it is 2 1/2 in height.
