Arribas Artoria Limoges Porcelain Trinket Box Dopey Mine Cart Snow White Disney
RARE ARRIBAS ARTORIA LIMOGES DOPEY IN JEWEL MINE CART PORCELAIN TRINKET BOX. The piece is simply titled "Dopey" and depicts the Snow White dwarf riding on top of a jewel-filled mine cart. The box is a rendition of a scene from Disney's animated classic movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was crafted by Artoria for sale at Arribas Brothers stores in Disney resorts.
The Disney Collection of limited edition trinket boxes was produced by Artoria Limoges under license by Walt Disney for just a few short years and was discontinued around 1999. This particular box measures approximately 2 1/8" long, 1 1/2" wide, and 2 1/2 tall. The underside of the box is signed "Artoria Peint Main Limoges France" and is numbered "65". Inside the box is single Swarovski diamond-shaped crystal.I've seen pictures of several higher numbered boxes that had jewels painted inside, rather than an actual crystal. This early produced box is even more scarce than the later versions. I've seen it described as "ultra rare" on a Limoges box collector web site. Due to the scarcity of these Artoria Disney boxes, they are in high demand by collectors. Condition of this Artoria Limoges Dopey trinket box is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, fleabites, or crazing.
It looks like new and has been well protected in its original Arribas box. This rare trinket box displays beautifully and would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. As I mentioned earlier, this box is nearly impossible to find and almost never comes up for sale.
