LIMOGES Chamart PV France Easter Bunny Rabbit Carrot Egg Porcelain Trinket Box. This is one of MANY beautiful Limoges boxes we will be listing from a prominent collection... Today we are happy to offer for sale a lovely vintage Limoges Chamart Easter bunny rabbit and carrot porcelain trinket box! Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain produced by factories in and around the city of Limoges, France beginning in the late 18th century.
By about 1830 Limoges, which was close to the areas where suitable clay was found, had replaced Paris as the main center for private porcelain factories. Limoges has maintained this position to the present day. This lovely box features the whimsical shape of a sweet grey and white bunny rabbit atop a pale green egg with carrots, with carrot painted interior and, clover gilt ormolu trim. The piece was expertly crafted by Chamart and is marked "Chamart Limoges France peint main".
Box presents beautifully and is in very good vintage condition, with very minimal display wear and no chips or cracks. This fabulous box will make a beautiful addition to any fine Limoges trinket box collection.. Dimensions: 2-1/2" in height, 2-1/2" in length, 2-1/8 in depth. Item(s) will be professionally packed to prevent damage in transit.
