Le Tallec Limoges Grignan Cobalt Stripe Ring Box
GRIGNAN COBALT STRIPE RING BOX. 2 7/8" Long 1 3/4" Wide 1 1/2 High. This is a small porcelain box from the atelier of Camille Le Tallec in the "Grignan" pattern with cobalt stripes. The little box is hand painted with white gold & cobalt stripes.
The wide cobalt blue stripes are decorated with encrusted gold and the white stripes have thin hand painted red lines. The flower clasp has a slight bend but it does not prevent the top from opening easily and closing firmly. Also, the brass fitting around the bottom of the box has some space between the porcelain and the brass (See Second Photo) but this seems to be common with these curved boxes and the top fits the bottom well. There is no missing paint and there are no chips or stains. The little box displays beautifully.
The bottom of the base is signed as shown in the photos. The mark between the L and T is a date mark and it is hard to make out but it might be the 1976 date cypher.
